Welcome to the Cloonacool GAA web site. The Club was established in 1916, but with lack of resources in fifties and sixties the club disbanded, But in 1978 the club reformed. Although starting out as a Junior club we eventually established ourselves at Intermediate level. In 1997 the club gained senior status for its first time by winning the intermediate championship. Although unlucky to be relegated from the senior ranks in 1998, The following year senior status was once again achieved by winning the league title in 1999. The club lasted a few years in senior, but with diminished numbers due to emigration and injuries the club fell back to intermediate where it continues to rebuild.
